ii. Doors opening and closing

Of course, we won’t always know why we’re praying. God may put someone in your mind that you haven’t thought of in weeks. That is usually a signal to pray. You may not know why, but again, God will guide you.

At other times, however, we simply pray for guidance. God will allow things to enter your life. And, you need to pray and ask Him how to handle each situation. Is this something that He means for you to do? Something to avoid? Is this a person you can befriend who will help you as you try to shepherd younger siblings, or children, or what have you? Is this the right church for you? And, so on.

Remember, God sees the big picture. Get direction and guidance from Him. He can help you with everything. So, don’t be like that child in the earlier example who insists on dressing himself or herself. Seek His help.
