ii. From those in sinful lifestyles

There will also be those who are opposed because of their own lifestyles. They are so happy – or, at least they act like it – that they don’t want to hear about God.

At times, a person can push too hard, like when I said you shouldn’t try to win an argument at the expense of getting the person saved. I recall a girl some years back who got saved – on Sunday or in AWANA, I don’t recall. She was really growing in Christ. Her mother might have stopped her from coming anyway. But, the girl started asking why her mom was sleeping around with her boyfriend, when they weren’t married. Her mother didn’t want to hear it. I don’t know how much she pushed. I do know this is an example of someone I hadn’t thought about in a while, and prayed for right away, as I mentioned earlier will happen. The good part is, she’s saved no matter what.

As noted, that girl might have just mentioned it once. And, Pharisees hated like having Jesus around, because of their sin. If someone is living a sinful lifestyle, the best thing is to live a life pleasing to God, and offer that anytime they want, they can talk to you. It’s fine to leave little tracts or things around, too, or mention things like a church’s addiction program. Just remember, you don’t know the person’s heart, but God does. This is why He says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Prov. 3:5) His ways are perfect, and are so much higher and greater than our ways, or our thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9)
