As mentioned before, though, you do need to take time for yourself. We all need that. It’s why missionaries today get furloughs, to raise support and to rest a bit. Though, I should note that before the last century, missionaries would leave and often never see their homes again, writing only once in a while. That’s why people were sent to look for David Livingstone; nobody had heard from him for a long time.
That time can involve whatever you have fun doing, as long as tit’s pleasing to the Lord; remember Philippians 4:8. If you like sports, for instance, there are plenty of ways to go and unwind. If you like movies, there are lots of good, wholesome ones that can make you laugh, let you enjoy action and adventure, make you feel good, or whatever else you like movies for. We’ll discuss them more later, but just remember what you are putting in your brain stays there. And, there are a lot of old movies that really are enjoyable, movies that nobody thinks about today.
Hobbies are great. So is just hanging out with friends and having a good time. But, when doing so, it’s important to never use it to fill holes in your heart. God made Eve because He said it was not good for man to be alone. (Genesis 2:18.) However, He made Eve as a companion. Not as a replacement for Himself.
