Once you’ve done that, He wants you to do good. It is not something you have to do. It is something you want to do. Just like if your friend did something really great for you, and you want to respond by doing good to them.
Ephesians 2:8-10 says we are saved by grace through faith. It is not by our good works. Heaven is a perfect place. There can be no suffering there. And, God knew it would be no fun if people could boast about how they got there. I imagine you wouldn’t want to hear someone boast about that, either. We can’t earn our way to Heaven.
However, those who are in Christ are saved unto good works. That means we are saved so we can be the light of the world, and the salt of the earth. The world and all in it will end one day. We should value things in Heaven. However, we can make this world better and bring others to Christ by being that light and salt. That’s what we are if we’re on His team like He wants. Like on a sports team. He wants to use you like a coach uses a player. That player is placed where their skills will help most.
The Apostle Paul used the body to teach the same thing. He said some people are eyes; some are ears; and so on. Anyone can do something for God, even if that something is only praying. Whatever it is, though, God wants you to be great at it.
