4. Remember, it’s God leading you

This is why, as we come to the last section of Part I, Section E, it is important to remember the things mentioned earlier. Prayer, humility, following the list of “do”s in the Bible, and so on help us all to let the ultimate leader guide us.

God knows the right path to take with your family. He knows the way everything works best. That way is through loving, caring families who are able to serve each person individually. No, not everyone will be happy with everything. But, we can all have joy in the Lord. Christians can have the most fun of anyone, because we don’t have to live up to the world’s standards. We can enjoy life – Jesus came so we might have “life, and have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10.) We can have fun without being constantly worried about money or power or anything like that. Because, those are just worldly things, anyway. And, as we’ve seen, it’s the treasures in Heaven we should be getting.

We serve a God who loves us no matter what. Isn’t that the best kind of leader to follow – the kind you know always had your best interests in heart?

That’s what the Shunammite woman did. She served God, instead of the world. She let God lead her, rather than people. Yes, people are important. People are used by God to provide stability in our lives, when they do their job. However, her ultimate goal was to serve the Lord. She could still serve her husband, serve her son as a good mother – he went to her right away, knowing he could find peace and comfort in her – and so on. However, the key here is, what do you put first? She put God first. She knew that, in the end, following God’s will for her life would bring the greatest reward.
