To have God help you with things, of course, you need to pray. This will be vital. So, we have yet another important detour. We must look at what prayer is.
How do you like someone to talk to you? Chances are you don’t like them to be overly fancy. You probably don’t like them to repeat the same thing over and over; while there is a place for it in the sense of praying for something that is really important time and again, it is not for every prayer. Jesus warned us never to use “vain repetitions.” That means, don’t just keep repeating the same thing with no feeling.
The “Lord’s Prayer” is what Jesus gives us as a model. It is obviously not one to be repeated, because Jesus just finished saying not to repeat prayers over and over. What He wants us to do is talk to God directly. Just as if we were talking to our friend.
